How to use: Exam & ID Photo and Signature Resizer (PAN, SSC, CNIC, Iqama, Emirates ID)

Make a photo or signature at the exact size and KB that PAN, SSC, CNIC, Saudi ID, Iqama and Emirates ID forms ask for, with the official source cited for every preset. Free, no upload.

What this tool does

This tool keeps the photo and signature rules of common Indian, Pakistani, Saudi and UAE forms in one list. Each preset shows the size in centimetres and pixels, the DPI, the KB limit, the source document and the date we checked it. Presets taken straight from an official page say so; where an issuer publishes only part of the rule, as Absher does for Iqama photos and ICP for Emirates ID, the preset asks you to check the latest notice. Signatures can be cleaned to white paper and dark ink, photos can get a white background and a name and date strip, and the JPG carries its DPI. Custom takes any size and KB range.

Common uses

Step by step

  1. Choose the preset for your form, for example PAN signature or SSC signature, and read the size, KB limit and source shown.
  2. Choose your photo or a photo of your signature on white paper, then drag the box to frame it.
  3. Press Make file, check the size and KB shown, then download the JPG.

Worked example

For example, choose PAN signature (Protean / NSDL). The preset shows 4.5 × 2 cm at 200 DPI, which is 354 × 157 px, with a 10 KB limit. Frame your signature and press Make file: the paper is cleaned to white and the highest JPEG quality under 10,000 bytes is saved. For SSC signature (6 × 2 cm, 472 × 157 px at 200 DPI), a file under 10 KB is redrawn at a higher DPI until it lands between 10 and 20 KB.

Tips for better results

Keep a copy of the original: each lossy save removes a little detail.

Good to know

JPG suits photos, PNG keeps sharp edges and transparency, WEBP is small but not accepted everywhere.

Why a browser-based tool?

The tool runs on your own phone or computer, so personal documents, photos and figures never sit on someone else’s server, and there is no queue or file limit. Everything runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

FAQ

Where do the sizes come from?

Each preset names its source, such as the Protean PAN guidelines or an SSC notice, with the date it was checked. If the issuer does not publish a value, the preset says so and asks you to check the latest official notice.

Why is there no SSC or Aadhaar photo preset?

SSC notices from 2025 say the photo is captured live by the camera in the application, and UIDAI takes the Aadhaar photo at the centre. Neither is uploaded, so the tool tells you that instead of inventing a size.
